ISL has been creating open-source web applications for over 6 years. We usually build with the so-called open-source LAMP stack - using Linux as the operating system, Apache for the web server, MySQL for the database and PHP as the programming language. We have also worked extensively with the PostgreSQL open-source database as well. We have little problem running this software on a Windows instead of Linux environment too if a client prefers, or using Microsoft SQL Server as the database. Our programmers and database engineers have worked with most products in the market, and can help guide clients to the optimum solutions for their needs.
We are also building a Drupal practice. Drupal is a content, user and web application development framework that uses PHP and MySQL. It provides powerful out-of-the-box functionality for certain kinds of websites and can be thoroughly customized.
