ISL was retained by the Post Carbon Institute (PCI) to perform a strategic overview of its web properties with a view towards rationalizing efforts to meet evolving objectives. PCI had built a number of Drupal websites over the years. We were asked to look for synergies in development and administration. There were partnerships with other organizations and social platforms to consider. A number of organizational, financial and marketing issues and opportunities were evaluated. We were presented with a multi-variable problem which had to be solved for a lower costs.
ISL talked to key players and discussed the pros and cons of different approaches in detail with the client. Discussion was essential. We were able to recommend a platform and site consolidation strategy that the client is implementing. It should lead to wider reach for its web-based branding goals with fewer costly inputs. One key to success will be to utilize the administrative power of Drupal, the kinds of tasks a non-technical manager can undertake, instead of changing the code to meet very custom requirements.
